NARROW ESCAPE FOR IML WORKER
Earlier today IML City worker, Shaun Kunz, found himself in a potentially serious situation when the lawnmower he was operating slid down a hill and nearly rolled over into the spillway creek bed. He was immediately aided by local residents Mike Spaeter and Donnie Barnes. They came to his rescue and secured the mower so that it would not continue to roll over and possibly seriously injure Shaun. Shaun's leg was trapped under the mower. Emergency Rescue was called in to render aid and assess the situation. They called for assistance to careful lift the mower from his leg.
Shaun was taken to a local hospital. He was examined and will be alright. His injuries were moderate.
Mayor Dustin Steinc and the City of Iron Mountain Lake wants to thank our local heroes, Mike and Donnie, the Bismarck Fire Department, EMS, Buckley Towing and anyone else who assisted in this amazing effort today. Your quick response and professional actions saved a life from possible perilous injury.
Thank you!

COMMUNITY FIREWORKS DISPLAY
JULY 2ND AT DARK
The Glory Day Celebration, that will be held on Saturday, July 2nd, 2016, will conclude at dark with a fireworks display provided by the residents of Iron Mountain Lake and it's sponsors. Donated fireworks will be set off at the Jedi and displayed over the Lake at dark. The best view of this event will be on the west side in the Park, so bring your lawnchairs and blankets and enjoy!
For several years this privately funded community event was heavily sponsored by a resident that recently moved from our community due to finding new employment. These years the display rivaled many of the other neighboring City's displays. And in order to maintain the standard of this spectacular event the community is being asked to chip in what they can towards providing a grand privately funded event.
If you would like to donate monetarily towards the purchase of fireworks, donate fireworks for the display or help participate in any way please contact this year's coordinator, Pam Stodgell, at 573-760-4677. You can also drop off fireworks at the IML Park Board Food Booth during the day or at the Jedi prior to the event.
This is a cooperative Fireworks Event put together with donations from private citizens and is not sponsored by the City or any other organization. The display depends on the generosity of our wonderful IML residents and it's sponsors. Thank you!

FIRE THIS MORNING AT CITY HALL
There was a fire at Iron Mountain Lake City Hall this morning that is presumed to have started some time before 6am. The fire created extensive damage and occurred in the rear of the building behind the Police Department. No one was there and no one was injured. Stored documents, records and unfortunately some historical items were destroyed. We have no information as of yet regarding the extent of damage to the Police Department. The City Hall side was mostly smoke and water damaged, but fortunately current business and records were salvaged as well as court documents.
As soon as there is more information about how and where City business will be conducted we will be sure to post it here.
